See a gig - preferably one that you like that isn't coming to Perth (in my case, I didn't know the band, but I liked them by the end of the night).

the best of melbourne..

I've been a little slack, mainly because it take so long to post photos and I have just been lazy and attempting to clean my room (epic fail there!).

But I will be getting together the best of Melbourne list together.

PROMISE.

Betrayed

His hand stroked the small of her back as she laid down facing next to him. Her fingers drew circles on his free hand and from the hidden depths she thought she'd long forgotten small nostalgic feelings rises.

The moment now was perfect, just as it had been back then, completely at ease, so comfortable so perfectly indestructible, everything was so right.

She stopped drawing circles, realising that she will never be back to that moment. He looked at her with his sleepy brown eyes, she looked up, smiled, and whispered "I loved you" and thought to herself sadly, and always will.

She removed herself from the warmth of his arms and walked away feeling the tears starting to stream down her face. Betrayed by her own mind and heart.

She'll let the tears wash away everything.

Two Ladies take to Tea on a Thursday mid-morning

OH how lovely are the grounds at Peninsula Tea Gardens in Maylands Pity the sun didn't come out to play all that much, which resulted in us having an indoors table.

This was taken when the rain decided to take a break and let the sun shine for a while

Although, we were very lucky to have the rain stop while we were having our breakfast/lunch/high tea.

It was fantastic. We used beautiful royal dalton cups and other silverwares...

All the lovely china and silverware to drink your tea

The beautiful tea cup

This is the cutest thing ever - the sugar holder!

Our Parisian Tea - 3 tiers of goodies for 2

had yummy smoke salmon, roast beef, cumcumber and ham sandwiches at the bottom tier
- all with fantastic mayo/dressing/sauce?

Scones with JAM and CREAM made up the second tier
- the cream was fresh, the jam was sweet as and the scones to die for. THE best scones ever.
BUTTERY and moist.

and of course indulged ourselves in petite cakes.

All downed with pots of tea. S opting for Kenliworth, and later a Latte, while I opted for Lovers Leap followed by the traditional English Breakfast.

It's so relaxing there, I love it. You get to escape the hussle and bussle of the city and yet be so close to it still. It's especially great on a Thursday mid-morning when it isn't so crowded, you have your own space. Allows you to chat, laugh over a nice cuppa tea.
What more does a lady want?

It's absolute perfection.

selfish

I'm worrying over pitiful things when on the other side of the equator people are trapped and buried under piles of concert. While, approximately 300 000 people were buried in the Hati earthquake.

I need to sort out my priorities, get myself out of this selfish self-pitiful stage and realise that I am so damn crazy lucky to be here and to be alive.

If it weren't for my grandparents, I wouldn't even have stepped foot into Australia, if it weren't for my parents pushing me (despite all my complaining and whinging and my cries of absolute unfairness), I wouldn't even be in this career (even if at times I hate it with a passion, there are moments when I think I like it).

FOR GOODNESS SAKE.

THERE ARE PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD WHO ARE WORSE OFF THAN YOU. APPRECIATE WHAT YOU HAVE AND WHAT YOU HAVE GOING FOR YOU. STOP WITH THE NEGATIVES, SELF-PITYING AND PUT DOWNS.

that is all.

Satsuki Japanese Restaurant

Satsuki is sister to Ha-lu in Mount Hawthorn, but this little corner Japanese restaurant is in Subiaco Square. It  blends contemporary dining style with traditional Edomae-style sushi methods.

Satsuki thrives upon a tapas-style precept, where small groups are encouraged to order a succession of small dishes to share across the table.

I was told to go to this restaurant by various people, all with fantanbulous reviews. However, when I went there I was rather disappointed. Although the food were wonderfully presented, some of the dishes seemed rather bland and nothing that makes my tastebud go AMAZING.

The restaurant is small, ambience was alright, but I felt that they tried a little too hard to be up-market-y. The pricing? it's expensive as the food wasn't all that great. The only exciting thing was the Lightly Fried Sushi Roll.

Atsuyaki Omelette -
THIS is nothing like it's described. In fact it tasted a little stale and was not sweet at all, if anything was bland.

Zuke style tuna with yam potato
- This was one interesting dish, the yam potato had an interesting texture.
It wasn't bad, at least the tuna was fresh-ish

Aubergine in a Soy Dashi Broth -
Something healthy, because I was craving for healthy food
The dish was overall not too bad, except it was a bit too salty for my liking but vegetables were nicely done.

Grilled Scallop "Isobe" Style
One of the better dishes of the night.
The scallop was cooked to perfection and the nori was crunchy, the touch of chilli and cheese just made this dish exciting
Pork Belly "Kaku-Ni"
The pork belly was tender, it was homely and gave you that warm fuzzy feeling

Lightly Deep Fried Sushi Roll
it had tuna in it and I must say this is the highlight of the evening.

I've been told that Ha-Lu is better, so maybe I should visit Satsuki sister and be the judge of it. Because as far as I'm concerned my experience at Satsuki was rather average, over-rated and over-priced.

I should have gone to the little Japanese cafe around the corner from Satsuki - it seemed more authentically Japanese. Don't get me wrong, the restaurant is nice, just need to reduce their prices a little bit, then maybe I'll go there again... MAYBE..
