Butter Nail Polish thanks to Instyle Magazine

So, I've been crushing on Butter Nail Polish, but I'm pretty sure there aren't any stockist in Perth, so when I found that Instyle Magazine gave away a FREE FULL SIZE 11mL BUTTER NAIL POLISH in two different colours - baby pink and hot red, I had to buy the magazine, and of course the fact that I haven't had my fashion fix in a while. Satisfying two of my desires. Can't go wrong. 

So I have the colour a whirl and painted it over the weekend, especially seeing as my Sally Hansen - wine coloured nails were chipped and I wanted something voom voom for the fashion festival. 

The colour and the pigment is amazing! The Pillar Red Butter Nail Polish is brilliantly bright, shiny and I can't seem to stop staring at it. 

In fact if you run the polish through paper the pigment can stain the paper in a little crayon red. The colour hasn't chipped although my of my nail has! and sorry for my unruly paint on the left hand!

Now I just need to find a stockist in Perth or one on the web that posts to Perth for free. Anyone of any?

Change for the better..

The last two weeks of 40+ degree celsius has finally made me book that all important appointment and give up my long hair and go for the big chop.

I've been going to Stephanie Chew's cute little salon in Northbridge - S2C hair designs located in Monger street.

My brother has been going to her for ages and been trying to get me to go for a while, but I really couldn't be bothered until last year before I went on my holidays, she fixed by otherwise bleh hair.

Anyway, whenever I get a haircut the priority that all hairdressers must abide by before they touch my hair is the following:

1. Cut a style that suits me

2. Plain and simply must be VERY low maintenance

(I don't have time as it is!)

3. Has to be somewhat trendy... and if I'm for it I'll just go for something completely outrageous..

4. Provide my hair with volume.. it just goes flat too quick and easily.. thanks to my dead straight hair.. T_T

I left it to Steph.. and she did a brilliant job (it's nice and cool as well..no heavy hot head of hair!)

It was however, such a shock. 

The amount of hair on the floor... it looked like a pile of animal fur or a furry decent sized animal! Or a small puppy sized animal at least.. T_T

And feeling it omg.. I can no longer comb my fingers through my hair!

It's a little choppy to give it volume..

Has a side fringe to shape the fringe..

I think I look a little too Asian.. but meh I am so not surprising there..

I also had my hair coloured... Burgundy..

Thank God it's all one colour.

I feel so cheeky with the haircut.. Like I can get up to anything.. HAH..

Now the fun part... matching my hair to all the clothes I have!

OH and I feel as though I look like one of those Japanese/Taiwanese drama girls..

Especially the girl from Hana Kimi..

Of course she is a lot cuter! All I'm saying is that the hair is exactly the same! 

PS. I was not asked by S2C design OR Stephanie to promote her business.. I'm writing it because I rather like my haircut and I haven't had one in ages.. It feels good to feel the breeze on the back of my neck instead of hair that goes sweaty.. ewww

Eyebrow Threading... alternative to eyebrow waxing...

This weekend being a long weekend involves being lazy and of course self-pampering. The girls and I headed to a local beautician to get our eyebrows done after a morning spent looking at bridal dresses for O.

AL recommeded that we try eyebrow threading, which truth be told I have never heard of. Apprently thats how people in asia and africa wax their legs and eyebrows. It involves a tweezer to plunk stray hairs then just a cotton sewing thread wrapped around the index fingers and held at the end with the beauticians mouth and of you just stretching the forehead and the eyelid to ensure the shaping of the eyebrows is done correctly and to your liking.

It's just so fascinating watching the lady twist the thread around her finger and over the eyebrows and just watching the hair disappear and the shape of the eyebrows turning out so nicely. It's definitely more precise than wax in terms of eyebrow shaping, however it does take longer and costs a bit more.

At first I thought it hurt more than wax only because I've never been a fun of plucking with a tweezer but the threading process itself didn't actually hurt, in fact you can't really feel anything at all.

All in all, I'll have it done again. I haven't had my eyebrows look so nice!
