Wishlist

I have been waiting for the weather to cool down in Perth and although the temperature aren't in the 30s anymore it's been rather muggy during the day and cool in the early mornings and at night, still not enough to dig out my lovely jackets and knits.

Lucky for me I headed down south to celebrate my bf's mum's 50th birthday. Yay for a bit of chill so that I can at least have a blazer on.

Despite that my obsession with jackets and boots haven't weaned. I'm really wanting the following things but I just don't have the income to get them! (plus I'm trying ever so hard to save my money for my travels to NYC).. but anything remotely similar at a cheaper price (and GOOD quality) would be awesome. If anyone knows of alternatives please let me know!!

I really want the beautifully soft leopard print light trench coat from Witchery. It's such a classic cut and is the perfect statement piece over top and jeans, dress and tights and the material is lovely to have on. I want want want!

I'm also wanting this awesome Jeffrey Campbell Black Patent Cut-Out Trompe L'oeil Boots. It has a very cool geometric clear wedge heel and its a little ankle bootie with a pointed toe. Love love love! They are just so gorgeous!

Seriously, how can you say no to the boots?? In fact the shoes would go so nicely with the coat as well!

Then for more practical cold weather coat (and one not for Perth weather but for travelling to the Northern Hemisphere's winter).. Country Road Spliced Padded Parka - puffer jacket with faux shealing lined hood and utility pockets. Practical and not too bad in the style department either...

Then there are these futuristic, unbelievable cool Theyskens Theory Elerie Aova Black Bootie. Just look at them!

But seriously.. boots will not be complete without the wedge ankle booties by Acne - Acne Hybria Lea (or really any Acne boots - in leather of course - are my wish).. It will go with EVERYTHING in my wardrobe!

SIGH! I don't think I'll be getting any of these anytime soon.

Wish list - Thermomix!

At present I wish for a thermomix. They are truly your best friend in the kitchen!

And anything that cuts down cooking time and allows you to make everything from scratch is fantastic! It even makes sorbet and ice cream in less than 2 minutes!!

If I had this I'll be throwing dinner parties more often!

Please Santa this year get me a thermomix!

Ps. Yes I have just been to a demo! They cooked 6 courses in under 2 hours.
A risotto dish, two dips, fresh bread, sorbet, lemon custard and beetroot salad... It was amazing!

I'll definitely be getting one for the kitchen when I get my own place!

Gift from my love

I got very spoilt on my birthday. Loved all my presents from my family. Got beautiful flowers from S.

And of course a little surprise from my other half.

It's just so delicate and pretty. Diamonds in a heart. What's more romantic, and symbolic of love than that?

Cue Favourites

So the disadvantage of going to London/France a month after the launch of Fashion Week in Australia and I guess around the world is the fact that my one of my favourite stores, Cue also released their Spring/Summer collection (and it's a goodie) and unfortunately I have to save.

I'm praying that people will not buy the items I love (very unlikely that this will happen)..

I'm really loving the following..

L: I love the Terracotta pants (it will be more visible in two photos time)
R: The colour block dress is so simple but will be flattering and a classic piece perfect for any wardrobe!

The Colour Block Dress

Strip shirt with Terracotta pants (the pants just look so comfy and the contrast black line and the button are two perfect details to put an edge to otherwise normal pants)

I love this dress (The Blue Overlay dress) - it's so 1950s but with a bit of a modern twist!
I wonder if this would suit me. Please let it suit me. It's the perfect thing I've been looking for since seeing this classic movie on a Sunday afternoon (I can't remember the title for the life of me!)

The White Sleevless Shirt Dress seems like the perfect summer item to have in your wardrobe. Perfect for those days and nights at the beach/shop/picnics.
Casual, yet can be dressed up.

I haven't quite decided if I like the whole sleevless blazer thing but the detail and cut of the blazer is beautiful.
Cue said that they have one with sleeves but only in selected stores.
But I love the shorts.
And the colour is so pretty.

*SIGH* alas I cannot have all. I must find something similar/better in London/Paris. Otherwise I must definitely get the colour block dress (and if it suits me the Blue overlay dress).

Mulberry Alexa!

I've had my eye on a leather satchel for a while, but none I've seen compare to the LOVE that I have for Mulberry Alexa.

Unforunately it is completely and utterly out of my budget, no matter how much it may change my life and how gorgeous and wonderful it is. I want one. I need one.

I can't decide wheather I want the classic soft oak or something more voomvoom, which unforunately may not last the test of time. And in an oversized please (because I seem to carry my life's essentials everywhere!)..

ARGH I don't even know why I bother even choosing a colour when I clearly can't afford one!

I did however find a site called Mulberry bags Australia. It's authenticity is questionable, especially seeing as the Mulberry was priced at $600-something dollars and was discounted to $280-something like that and the original will definately set you back about $1300.

OH WHY MUST I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!??!!

words to live by..

Take time to think, it is the source of power.

Take time to work, it is the price of success.

Take time to play, it is the secret of being ever young.

Take time to read, it is the foundation of knowledge.

Take time to be friendly, it is the road to happiness.

Take time to love and be loved, it is the privilege of God.

Take time to laugh, it is the music of the soul.

Take time to pray, it helps to live in Christ and be led by His spirit.

reaching quarter life crisis... (well close enough to quarter life...)

So my birthday was last Saturday, just turned 23, feeling like I've ticked off so many of life's milestones I feel rather old. I had an epic weekend of celebrations, starting on Friday, with dinner at C restaurant which offered great views of the city. Then a picnic at Floreat Beach with friends and my cousins on Saturday, a family dinner that night at Hyatt Hotel, before heading for High Tea at the George with the girls and a few guys on Sunday.

Although on the day of the picnic, it was cloudy. Thank GOD that it wasn't too hot (like the days before werea) or cold, the water was beautiful and as usual I think I bought too much food, but I guess at least no one went hungry. And hey, I had the opportunity to wear my new swimsuit. I love it, so comfortable and ultra cute. Now to just keep committed with my workout lose those love handles. T_T

Me and my beautiful cousins with Floreat Beach and the skyline at the back

Chilling and eating at the park.

Hiding behind A to try be half the size I am.. T_T

T&J and Me with my boy..

I must say, thank you so much for celebrating my 23rd brithday, and for all the lovely presents, messages and wishes. I feel so privileged to have all of you in my life. In fact, without you I wouldn't have had such an awesome weekend, so thank you!

Lots and lots of love. xoxo

Pigeonhole Vintage Store

I finally ventured into Pigeonhole Vintage store today, after wanting to go to their opening night but couldn't make it. For a tiny little shop on Bon Marche Arcade, it does have a several interesting pieces.

One of which I tried on, it was a perfect fit, feels beautiful on, and was just gorgeous on me and O.M.G the dress was short (like it should be). I love it.

Alas, I didn't get it, firstly because its a $75 vintage wear, mind you its really good vintage wear, with minor stitching getting frayed around the bossom area, hardly noticable. But I noticed, and if it wasn't for that the dress was perfect, beautiful and I would love it to bits. I'm now really wishing I got it. But I will hold out, hold out until at least the Two Bucks 'Til Wednesday vintage sale is done, then I will decide.

Can you imagine the above dress worn with knee high socks and oxford shoes?? (brown to be exact)
or ankle boots with laced short socks?
or with knee-high boots (in particular the ones I bought from Miss Lau)
or in transitional weather such as Autumn or Early Spring with a straw hat and oxford shoes...

ARRGHH thinking about it makes me want it more... T_T
someone find me something similar to this.. that makes me look as cute!!.. OR just get me this dress, it's also available online! (THERE IS ONLY ONE OF COURSE seeing as it's VINTAGE!!) I will muchly love you! xoxo

Two Bucks 'Til Wednesday - Dream of Sky

Two Bucks 'Til Wednesday are ran by very lovely ladies who collect and sell lovely vintage clothing to raise money for the Australian Cancer Research Foundation. On September 18th 2010 at the Mount Hawthorn Lesser Hall they will be hosting their Spring collection, a Dream of Sky.

Here are some of the pieces that are on preview that I'm eyeing and hoping that I would be able to make it early so I can line up and get in first!

I'm loving the brown shoulder strap bag and the belt and shirt

The puss-bow blouse and cardigan are just oh-so-sweet for spring/autumn/transitional weathers

It's not the dress that I want, but rather the bag.

I just love this whole entire outfit, the belt, the knit top and the floral skirt. I MUST HAVE.

karma...

I've been giving advice, help and genuine favours for a while, and what I've found is that some people are complete and utter assholes and forget that where they are now is because you helped them out a great deal.

I just wish people would show more appreciation.

But in the mean time, if they don't I'm hoping karma would at least bring around something wonderful. Because I need all the wonderfuls I can get at the moment.

the one bug I don't mind being bitten by..

The travel bug has bitten me, on the eve of Chinese New Year, well and truly, the bite must be a huge one and one that seeps down to my bloodstream because I ALMOST implusely booked my tours for Europe.

Yet, for reasons, unknown to me, the sensible me appeared - which doesn't usually happen when making decisions, and told me to get my ass out the door of the convention centre, where the travel expo is currently held this weekend, and head on to my next appointment.

All I can say is, WHY? to my resonable, sensible, and in this instance unwelcoming side of me!

I was so close to catching a royal or two at Beckingham Palace,

ride the London Eye,

find some Irish luck, (they have beautiful scenary or so I'm told!)

wear plaid in Scotland whilst exploring its many castles,
find love on top of the Eiffel Tower (or the bottom),

ride a bike (well, maybe not a bike, seeing as I don't know how to cycle, but maybe ride a vespa) through the Tuscan countryside,

awe at the view in the swiss mountains,

explore my darker side in Amsterdam

and if I'm up for it watch a viking or two clubbing it up in Iceland.

Alas, I must wait, until then I just have to keep scratching this annoying itch from that travel bug!

Oh by the way...

GONG XI FA CAI (HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR)

it's the year of the Tiger... *ROAR*

&

HAPPY VALENTINE's DAY

now I must sleep for I have to be up in 6 hours to get ready for 12 hours of gruesome work. I really hope it won't be busy, after all it'd be Valentine's Day and it's a Sunday and it's Chinese New Year and I'm missing out on all the family gatherings, which consists of eating food, I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing. At least my waistline won't suffer.
