Silk jersey and Helmut Lang

The last couple of nights I've gone out for dinner with family and friends have been chilly. But not so much that I couldn't wear a silk and jersey dress or a top and jeans both paired with a biker black leather jacket.
I'm really loving the simple well put together styles. Pity the room light is yellow and the photos turned out all blah. Not to mention the dirty mirror. I really need to make the boy take my fashion photos next time. The only problem is he isn't much of a photographer!

Red leather red lips red wine

Thank you Net-a-Porter for your biannual sale!

Thank you Karl Lagerfeld for being a brilliant edgy designer.

Thank you DHL for redelivering my present.

Isn't she a beaut? I cannot wait for the weather to cool down (my dislike of heat is unbelievable and summer fashion is never as fun as autumn/winter).

The Onyx red leather jacket - Karl by Karl Lagerfeld is the perfect mix of rock and roll, biker chick. Paired with anything from shorts and tee with biker boots to skinny metallic jeans from Mother or soft leopard spots of Current/Elliot jeans or simply yet just a pair of black skinny Levi and a printed tee/silky shirt paired with heels to a little black dress (or red or hey why not floral!) - it is the essential jacket!

It is hot.

It will see me wear it way too many times.

I cannot wait!

YSL Arty Ring

It started a few years ago, I didn't think much of it. In fact I thought it was alright bit over the top and something I probably wouldn't wear too often.

Then every year.. It teases me with it presence on a friend, on the web, on The blogs.

Finally.. I decided to try it on and went to Cultstatus on King street (No. 66 to be exact) to see the gold ring with black and gold through it. There was an array of colours, a decent collection for Perth.

I was only going to try it and then leave. If I loved it I was going to get it from SSense or Net-a-Poter. But alas, it called my name, it wrapped itself around me, three different colours ; moss green with rose gold, black with gold, and this creamy/pinky one.. all so beautiful! All fitting so snuggly around my fingers. It kept calling me as I looked around.

It worked its way into my mind, telling me that its the perfect statement jewellery. It showed me all the different outfits I can wear it with. It told me to get the moss green/emerald because it alluded class and elegance whilst still being a big statement piece, plus it told me I would probably wear it the most.

Damn! So I came out of Cultstatus with a YSL Arty Oval ring in green with gold through it an of course in rose gold ring. Good thing I worked overtime!

But now I promised myself no more self indulgence and to save; I plan to be in USA and Canada at the end of the year.

Birthday spoils

I had my birthday on Tuesday just passed and have been spoilt rotten with wonderful company in wonderful restaurants from the Loose Box with my man to Sandalford Wineries with the girls to Bistro Guillaume with the family.

It's been a week of eating and neglecting my exercise regimen. Only being able to put in 100% for one day on Thursday (I plan to go later this morning seeing as it's 2am Saturday now) and I'm starting to feel sluggish and yuck.

I know it'd only get worse once I jump onto a big jet plane. Although I'm hoping to hit the gym with my brother a few days a week, otherwise my favourite app, Nike Training club is going to get Used like crazy. It has 15minutes intense training so I should be able to fit it in.

So I will write about the wonderful foods once I get sometime to myself. But in the meantime bf got me a very nice surprise present whilst he was on holidays in Melbourne couple of months back (a miracle he even hid it from me for so long!). This is of course for my birthday and Christmas present... Introducing my very own..

CHANEL!!

It's dark red. It's a clutch bag. With straps. It's the classic cushion look. It's timeless. It's elegant.

I love it.

And I love him for getting it for me. And yet I'm really upset because he should not be spending so much money on me!! He should be saving up for that house and that car!

*sigh*

Luckiest girl ever.

Don't you just love it? I take more photos of it later, but for now you can contend with a iPhone photo.

Aurelio Costarella

Perth designer Aurelio Costarella (who dresses Rihanna, Melissa George, Kradashian sisters) has a pop-up store in the new print-houses and it's in its last week of opening before returning to their store on View street in North Perth (called Post Emporium).

I finally had the chance to pop in the store the other day (usually I work everyday and having an RDO is nice like that; gives you a chance to explore). Everything in the store was on sale - massively on sale.

Although I shouldn't be spending money seeing as I have bills up to my ears to pay I couldn't help it but get this dress - especially seeing as it was over 50% off and was such a simple, elegant design, but oh so hot!

The dress doesn't include the belt, but hey it'd look good with any wide belt. It comes in black, ivory, white and bronze.

Now I have to clean out my wardrobe and have to start ebaying and going to the markets and selling clothing I don't wear anymore.
You will come visit when I start selling won't you? My clothes are in the best of conditions!

The best kind of present!

Look what came in the mail on Tuesday!! All the way from the UK...

A black box nicely tied with a ribbon, covered in black tissue paper.. A
Hervé Léger dress!!

It looked so gorgeous on.. Curves in all the right places while hiding everything, except maybe that lower ab that I have that sticks out! :( nonetheless I will give it until end of march until that bump is all toned.

The fit was perfect! Although I think I could have gone down to size xs. But size s still fits wonderfully.

I can't wait to show it off! Paired with my Louboutin heels it'd be perfect!

I post photos of it on later this weekend or once i wear it out or once I reach my 5kg weight loss goal. Until then these photos of mystery will have to make do.

God I love opening presents in the mail!

Marc Jacobs Belleville skull-embroidered cotton dress

I had lunch with JJ at the popular CBD luncheon place - Greenhouse - where the restaurant is constructed by recycled materials. But I'll talk about that later.

We visited Dillente - still a store I can't afford, then made our way to Wasteland, where I found the Marc Jacobs Belleville skull embroidred cotton dress - it was on sale. It was $580 and I got it for a bargain price of $170.

It's the perfect prairie pretty styled dress, perfect for spring/summer, but with a twist - it has skulls on it! Pretty in a rock chic styling. It's oh-so-cute when it's on as well.

The above photos courtesy of net-a-porter .. it does no justice to the dress.. kinda makes it look BLAH and boring...

It's the perfect little dress for spring, simple, cute, with or without a belt. Can't wait to wear it out.

Now I will not shop, at least not until I spring clean my wardrobe.

love..have you met my new love?

I promised all of you that I'll show you the MOST EXPENSIVE item in my wardrobe and my very very first Christian Louboutin shoes - to be precise - Christian Louboutin Decollete 868 Metal Patent Pumps in Rouge.

These are what Dorothy would wear if she were to go back home to Kansas.

I'm still tossing whether I should return them or not...
Mainly because at this present time I can't really afford it considering I'm not working fulltime (which I'm hoping would change within the next week..)
Secondly, I don't know if I'll wear them, because I'm too scared I may scratch them.. patent leather - not exactly the toughest of materials.
BUT
They are sexy, hot, comfortable and are LOUBOUTIN.
AND OMG THEY GO WITH EVERYTHING IN MY WARDROBE. from my trashy jeans to my LBD to my sexy red number!

See why it's so hard to decide....

with that I leave you with a question.......What do you all think?

let's make a statement!

Two of my favourite items of clothing at the moment - my Bandage dress from Miss Lau in Melbourne - which I fear would not look very good with this winter weight I've gained - so I must track back to the gym...
and my Vintage dior blazer.

The outift ended up looking very corporate, minus the whole black and white assemble.

I guess it's about time I grow up anyway.

ps. can you see my little stomach bulging.. need to go back to the gym...! After I write this letter..to this university I'm going to the post-office and then running.

Dress: Bandage Dress from Miss Lau
Vintage Dior Blazer: From Claire.INC aka Ebay

Doctor Martens was made in England..

Photobucket

I finally got a pair of Doc. Martens - the original - the pair i've got is being discontinued so it's still made in England with yellow stitchings and all. The latest ones unforunately are all made in China, cheaper labour.

Photobucket

I love these, it's blue, not white ones - which maybe I won't want after all, the blue is subtle blue, although in the photos it looks very blue, but it's due to the flash.

I just have to wear into them a bit more, at the moment it's all very shiny and the leather hasn't been worn in yet, so it looks too new for doc. martens.

It just means that I now have an excuse to jump in puddles when it rains! ^_^

Why be fashionable?

Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening

- Coco Chanel

and that my friend is the reason why i love fashion.

new additions to my family..

My family abandoned me over the December Christmas season to go to Taipei and Hong Kong, while I slave away at work. I guess, they almost, but not really all that close, made up for it by getting me TWO tiffany and co. jewellery.

A tiffany and co. key with their signature, Tiffany blue coloured heart on the handle of the key and a bracelet - a very dainty one because, I really despise the thick chunky bracelets - it's a beaded bracelet with a mini and very cute "return to tiffany" heart.

I have yet to take photos of the actual jewellery, so you just have to be contented with the website photos.

It's sooo cute!

I just adore this. It's feminine, dainty, cute and sweet. Nothing like those chain bracelets - i really don't like those - so chunky!!

vintage raybans = hearts

I love my parents a lot (equally). Except, sometimes, mummy produces such gems...

this uber cool VINTAGE RAYBANS -- she wore it when she was younger and it's been through a few countries...of course, the gold-nose piece is fading and i probably have to get the sunnies nose pads realigned but other than that it's pure perfection.

I'm in love.

a moment of weakness for Dior and Oscar De La Renta...

My recent buys are my babies and I can't WAIT WAIT WAIT until they are at my doorstep next week. Counting down the days until they are here!

They are complete and utter vintage pieces from Claire Inc.  who resides in Adelaide and seeks designer vintage pieces.

I can wear these to work (if I dare too..) or just spice it up when I go out to eat fantanbulous foods and dine in culinary delights.

Vintage Oscar De La Renta top

and my continual love affair with Dior ( I LOVE THEIR MAKE-UP and mositurisers!)
Vintage DIOR suit blazer - all I can say is the CUT and colour is HOT HOT HOT!

I do realise that they are both pokey-dotted. But hey a girl needs her spots on some days! They always make you look oh-so-cute-young-and-bubbly!

"What I've found does the most good is just to get into a taxi and go to Tiffany's. It calms me down right away, the quietness and the proud look of it; nothing very bad could happen to you there..."- Holly Golightly, Breakfast at Tiffany's, 1958

You walk through the dark wooden door, climb the staircase, where at the top you are greeted by impeccably dressed doorman with a huge smile, black suit and white gloves. Although, the Tiffany and Co. jewellery store in Perth is quiet small compared to that of Sydney, the magic that takes place there is just as amazing.

On the second floor of the building hides the precious diamonds - rings, necklaces, bracelets - the very things that makes Tiffany's so famous, while the first floor, just above street level, jewellery of a more reserved and every-day wearable things lay - just waiting to be worn by beautiful, gorgeous women, girls, teens of all ages - the prefect present for any milestone or for just becauses.

I love just browsing through their diamond collection, fiddling with their charms, trying on the necklaces and bracelets.. but the best bit?..I love watching the Tiffany's salesperson tie up the little blue box with the white satin ribbon and neatly placing it into their blue signature bag. Divine.

My little treasures of Tiffany marks every milestone I can think of. Beautiful treasures each holding special memories - the way a Tiffany should feel - special, unique, memorable. A visit to Tiffany's should always be an adventure.

Tiffany Heart Key - from their key collection (shown above and below)

The Tiffany and Co. key marked my year as a university graduate and the start of the rest of my working life *DEEP SIGH*. Marking the fact that I am now to be responsible.

Tiffany Charms - Cupcake and "Return to Tiffany and Co New York" Heart Charm

The two above charms represents the love that other people have for me and how it feels to be love. How sweet love is or can be.

I am yet to receive the diamond Tiffany - but like the wise Holly Golightly said, "it's tacky to wear diamonds before you're forty", well, it's not all entirely true, but you know what I mean... I hope.

My first REAL GUCCI experience

They tell me that once you've got the luxe bug you can't go back, oh woe is me, how right are they? I've been to many a Gucci store in my short 21 years on this blue blue planet of ours. Having scouted shops in Melbourne, Sydney, Hong Kong, Taiwan and admired the gorgeous bags and lights in Tokyo (where I dared not enter in my "back-packing" look).

I've always been admanent that showing off those ugly canvas logos as a young-gen Y looked nothing more than cheap - why? because it's overdone and never classy and because there are too many fakes! So after much delibriation, debates and countless hours of browsing through shops and many of the luxury brand ookbooks, from Fendi, Chloe to Chanel -  I decided that I loved Chanel best - but I am not old enough or glamourous or elegant or RICH enough to have a Chanel and I just don't like LV - Their constant showy monograms are too much and too blah; although having said that I did give Mummy a RED non-monogrammed leather wallet (because it was Red and its leather so it has no ungly LV monogram = ozzing with sexiness) and Chloe and Fendi are too plain and something I can see myself grow out off, so I decided Gucci fits me just fine. They have the monogram canvas range - which like I said, I have no desire for, but their leather range is beautiful. The monogram being subtle but obvious and the designs are ever so elegant, classy and something that will grow as I grow - not just a passing trend.

So may I present to you, the most expensive bag I have:

The Gucci, Icon Bar Continental in Black; costing me at least half my week's wage. But it was worth it. The assistant manager was fantastic. Totally patient with me as I went through 5 different wallets, narrowing down to 3, calling a friend, then coming back in the next day to purchase it after showing said friend.

I am officially one of those kids with that designer lust - Having three tiff&co. necklaces in different design, reading vogue and madison and shoptilyoudrop, lusting over the burberry coat and chanel classic bag - *SIGH*

Mental NOTE: Must curb spending.

Without further notice - may I present to you my gucci wallet - totally classic - with 6 card holders, zipped compartment and 3 money holding spaces.
